About me
Margot Zalkind has been rowing and working in rowing for more than 30 years. She started at Norwalk River Rowing Club in CT, then helped form Saugatuck Rowing Club in CT, as its first President. For many years she then raced competitively for Potomac Boat Club in Washington DC and medaled several times at the USRowing’s Masters Nationals, Nike World Masters Games, and Head of the Charles Regatta (among other races).
She has served as Chair of the USRowing Safety Committee since 1999, contributing to the Trailer Driving Video, and created and led workshops on Trailer Driving, Safe Coxing, and Safe Launch Driving. Margot now works on Special Projects for USRowing.
She is a co-author of the books Water Ready with Mike Davenport and The Coxswain Encyclopedia: From Racks to Racing.
