Linda's extensive international experience includes coaching former Harvard Lightweight rower Andrew Campbell to gold medal finishes in the single sculls event at the 2013 and 2014 World Rowing U23 Championships as well as bronze medals at the 2018 and 2012 Senior World Championships and the 2011 World Rowing U23 Championships. Prior to that, she helped guide three US boats to gold medals at the 2010 World Rowing U23 Championships. From 2004-05, she served as an assistant coach on the US Women's Junior Team, helping the 4- and 2- earn places in the grand final at the Junior World Championships both years. Since 2004, she has coached at 14 different World Championship events.
In addition to coaching, Linda is a leader on land, holding multiple leadership positions, including serving as the President and Director of the CRASH-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championships from 2006 through 2013. She served on the Cambridge Boat Club Board of Directors for four years including one as President, and the USRowing Board of Directors with 8 years on the USRowing High Performance Committee from 2001-2008. She currently serves on the Boston Athletic Association Board of Directors since 1996 and has run the Boston Marathon twice. In 2009, the Harvard-Radcliffe and MIT Women's Lightweight teams renamed their annual race the Linda Muri Cup to honor her for her significant contributions to the sport of Rowing, and, especially, Lightweight Rowing.
During her own career as a rower, Linda was a nine-time US National Team member and a three-time World Champion. In 1994, she was a semi-finalist for the James E. Sullivan Award, which recognizes the top amateur athlete in the country. Linda is also an 18-time US National Champion and has won 13 Head of the Charles Regattas and 2 CRASH-B Hammers. This past winter, she won the 2018 FISA World Indoor Rowing Championship Masters E. A committed competitor, she continues to enjoy training for Masters level competitions.
